![]() Yes, it is possible. It can be a bit tricky to implement if you are using Insert>Caption as Word has a habit of taking the settings in that dialog and applying it across all of the other captions at the same time. If you reveal toggle field codes you can see how each field is coded. In your chapters, there will be two fields along the lines of Table {styleref 1 \s}-{Seq Table \s 1} In your Appendix you need a single field Table {Seq Table \r 1} - to restart the numbering for that Seq field Table {Seq Table} - thereafter to continue the numbering You can edit field codes directly and press F9 to update them.

Mr. Andrew, your method works fine, and just for your information This method must be used when you finished your document completely, because if you then insert just a single table or figure in the appendixes and captioning it, it will restore the original (default) caption numbering (including chapter numbering) to include chapter numbers for all captions in the appendixes, which then require further modification of field codes, and this may be annoying. Thank you again Best wishes laith |
