Hi, thanks for your response. I just tried safe mode and F4 seems to work fine. Does this mean that there's an add in or something that might be causing the problem?

The fact that Safe mode works around the issue means that you should troubleshoot add-ins, yes. See How to troubleshoot problems that occur when you start or use Word - Office | Microsoft Docs.

Hi, thanks for your response. The problem I'm having is on a work computer so I won't be able to try anything until at least Monday, but I will definitely check the link you provided.
