You can use a Word command to convert automatic numbering to typed numbering. This is not easily reversed, though.
When I try to highlight the Word Document everything highlights in blue except the paragraph numbers. I never get as far as the email. I cannot copy and paste to anything including another word document except for the body of the document which highlights just fine. The paragraph numbers never get highlighted to perform the copy function. Thanks for looking at the issue.
