Default Hyperlink and footnotes

I can't get my hyperlinks to work when they are in footnotes. Hyperlinks work fine in the main body of the word document, but when move them into a footnote and try to open them, they give me an error message and don't work. I have tried several different fonts, all with the same problem. I have attached a couple of screenshots that display the error message I am getting. Is there a fix for this or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

It is possible you are doing something wrong because I don't have the same issue on my machine. The trick will be working out what might be going wrong.

Your header shows you are using Windows 8 and Office 2013. Is that correct? I tested on the current versions of both so that might be one source of the difference in success.

I also notice there is a difference in capitalisation on the hover tooltip and the error message. I'm not convinced this would cause it to fail but perhaps your default browser is case sensitive (I would have thought this would be at the webserver end but perhaps it is your browser).

Can you post your sample doc so I can see if I have the same issue on this machine?

Thanks to all who replied. Problem solved. I think it was because I had word blocked in my firewall, I enabled it again and it is now working, even from the footnotes. I am using Office 2013 and trying to use hyperlinks to chrome browser.
