Default Hyperlink and footnotes

I can't get my hyperlinks to work when they are in footnotes. Hyperlinks work fine in the main body of the word document, but when move them into a footnote and try to open them, they give me an error message and don't work. I have tried several different fonts, all with the same problem. I have attached a couple of screenshots that display the error message I am getting. Is there a fix for this or am I doing something wrong? Thanks
