I would do the normal copy and paste so you do get it as a Word table with the formatting intact. Then select the table and choose Convert to Text on the Table Tools > Layout ribbon tab.

You may lose the formatting within cells if your default Paste is set to "Keep Text Only". To keep the formatting, right-click and choose Paste Options > Keep source formatting.

You can change the default (i.e. what happens when you use Ctrl-v) to one of the several other paste options by using the Word Options > Advanced dialog; "Cut, copy, and paste" section.
