Smart Tags were something I never used but I think you may be able to disable them or turn them off in your options. In a perfect world, turning off the option in your Word settings should stop Word trying to access those files (and hence avoid the error message). You might need to do this in both versions of Word that you are running.
I'm not running those versions of Word anymore but you can do google searches to see where the options would be to turn off and/or disable Smart Tags. You could start here to understand what they are and how to turn them off https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/...t-tags-in-word
