Default How do I create a numbered list that starts with '(aa)', '(ab)', etc.?

I want to create a numbered list in MS Word that starts with '(aa)', '(ab)', etc.? However, MS Word only offers '(a)', '(b)', etc. I understand that I might not be able to use MS Word's inbuilt 'Numbering' tool, but that doesn't bother me. My plan is to combine the '(aa)' style numbered list with the '(a)' style numbered list, so at least visually, both numbered lists need to line up exactly in terms of indents.

You do know that you can right align the numbers so they expand to the left don't you?

A standard list will go a, b, ... z, aa, ab, ... az, ba etc. If you want to start with aa then you will need separate lists for every 26 items.

If Andrew's response is not enough, you could start the number with the text "a". You could use a SEQuence Field for your second list.

For alignment, see Number Alignment by Suzanne Barnhill, MVP.
