Currently trying to work out this riddle and would be grateful for your help.


I tend to use both WPS documents and Microsoft Word 2016.


While scrolling through documents to attach to an email I noticed that authors were different on some documents as opposed to others.


The author listed on some documents was someone other than myself - infact it is actually a family members wife in another country who works for a large IT firm.


I have zero contact with this family member and said wife and I'm very confused as to why her name would show up as an author ( This is only on certain documents as opposed to others - namely every document that is my CV).


Could this be a potential sign of interference from her end - ( she is a computer science graduate and works in the IT industry for a large reputable firm so is capable).


Your help is appreciated.

It would help if you would distinguish between WPS and Word documents.
It is highly unlikely that this is anything being done deliberately. Properties in Word documents tend to be quirky and often do not mean what one would think.

The author property may have been set once on a document and then a chain of 'Save As' has happened to spawn lots of copies of a document - each of which still bears that original author's name.

I wouldn't worry about your document being interfered with. It is more likely to just be a document which can trace its lineage back to one that your in-law once edited.
