Well this is an annoying problem.
Maybe try closing Word and rename your Normal.dotm template so Word creates a brand new fresh one. Perhaps there is a problem with that. Do you know where to find that template?

Ok, this is weird. I noticed that if I go to File/Print BEFORE I go to File/Save the save will work. I don't have to print anything. Just the act of clicking print seems to clear the way to issue a save command without that annoying blue spinning circle.

Its still doing the same thing. Why does visiting the print section first stop the error from occurring?
