It works!
many thanks for your help - Dividing by 2 works! However my brain can't get around the fact that it just seems wrong to have to do this. Ive uploaded a copy of the main parts of the document (I think - I'm new to this, can't you tell
 I thought about using formulas instead of form fields for the total as suggested but not sure of the syntax to use Testmenu for forum.docx
