Default Checkboxes displayed "next" to the word document

Good afternoon,

I have to fill in a Word document containing checkboxes. But it's impossible to fill in those checkboxes directly in the document.
Each time I want to fill in the checkboxes, it displays the same checkboxes also on the right side of the document, and those additional checkboxes are the ones I can fill in.

And only when I click on a next checkbox the previous checkbox is then displayed in the document
I have attached a screenshot of the display.
I'm using Office 365 Plus, Word version 1810
Do you have any idea what the root cause is and how it could be resolved?

Thank you in advance for your support
