Default Scrolling speed in Word only is out of control

I have a new Surface Book Pro running Win 10 and Office 365. I am having a little trouble getting used to all the multiple finger options on the touchpad. But the one that really drives me batty is the two-finger scrolling just in Word. In any other application (browser, file explorer, Excel, this page), it works as I expect. I put down 2 fingers and I can scroll up or down. The speed varies with the sceep of my fingers and if I flick them, it will scroll a bit and then slow down. And if I stop my fingers the scrolling stops right there. Perfect!

But in Word, and only in Word, it's crazy. The scroll speed is way too fast and it sometimes goes the opposite way. What the %&$*&#$ do I have to do to get Word to behave like everything else?

Thanks
