Default Dealing with Those Pesky Collapsible Headings (not Headers)

And how to remove them!?? I looked but did not find another post like this so if this needs to be moved, moderator please go ahead.
My experience goes back to around 2010 or so with Word and now I have Word 2019.

I have much to learn but for now, big trouble. My TOC encloses much of the document and it is many pages long. Little triangles tauntingly flutter at me on every line.
Please help. Any assistance dearly appreciated in advance.
