Hi,
I’m having a problem inserting a table of contents into a document I’ve typed. I have a graphic inserted on page 5 which takes up the entire page. When I try to insert either an automatic built-in table of contents or the custom option, the table of contents field splits into two and the graphic from page 5 has been copied to page 2. On page 2 the graphic has been inserted just below the heading which corresponds to where the graphic appears in the document. The table of contents then continues on page 3 after the inserted copied graphic. When I point to the beginning of the table of contents field, I notice that the graphic becomes selected as well. It’s now part of the table of contents field! However, when I insert the manual table of contents option I don’t have a problem with the field splitting and the graphic appearing, because the TOC in this particular option is not linked to document headings. I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 07-29-2019 at 04:51 AM. Reason: Mark as solved |

The graphic has a style associated with it. Change the style of that paragraph to one that doesn't appear in the TOC.
