Would this work for you?
Highlight the automatic number you want to change.
In the Home ribbon menu, click the down arrow beside the numbering icon (1.2.3. not the multi-level numbering icon)
At the bottom of the drop down menu, click set numbering value.


In the window by the same name, enter the correct number for your section.
