To give a little more info, my objective is to have a block of text that mirrors another block of text so that I only have to maintain it in one place. It's for an exercise guide with solutions to the exercises at the end. I'm showing the original exercise with the solution, and some of the exercises contain numbered lists and lettered lists within those numbered lists. If I have to create a separate bookmark for every single one of those steps, it's a ton of work .... plus if I understand you correctly, I'd have to modify both copies any time there's a change to the number of steps, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of creating the bookmarks in the first place.

Seems like I'd be better of just hard coding my numbered (and lettered) lists ... or not creating the bookmarks and just manually doing a copy-paste whenever there are changes.... unless there's a better option.


I don't really know....
