Word does not check spelling

What does it say the language is at the bottom of your document? Can you attach a sample word doc?

Portuguese (Brazil). Attached. This document was obtained through OCR and lost portuguese accents (like à)

Maybe that's your answer? Losing the accents through OCR?

I can't get the Portuguese dictionary to download.
