To clarify...

The text inside the document was not visible.
I saved while working several times.
I did not save after this happened as I didn't want the issue itself to be saved.
Search find worked to find words that I could not see.

The text was clearly still within the document but I could not see it. Which made me think it was a formatting error?

Edit, undo did not work
Clipboard didn't work

After trying various fixes the entire text on the document disappeared and I gave up. I redid the document and saved every few seconds like crazy as I have a deadline I'm working against.

When I have more time I will go watch some tutorials and learn more about formatting.
