You can use a macro.
A Global StyleSheet in Microsoft Word? If doing it manually or with a macro, remember to turn off any option to automatically update styles from the template. What happens when I send my document to someone else? Will Word mess up my formatting? Leaving this option checked is asking for trouble. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 05-07-2019 at 06:59 AM. |

When Word opens a document it looks in 4 places for the template. If a template with the same name appears in one of those four locations, the document accepts that template as its current source. The locations in order of play are:
1. The same folder as the document 2. The user templates folder 3. The workgroup templates folder 4. The path the 'attached template' field shows (ie in Templates and Addins dialog) This means you can move the template from its test location as long as you put it in one of the locations 1-3.
