I didn't get that this was for a suite of documents. Is that context talked about in a different thread?



You can put mapped CCs into building blocks but the links won't work unless the linked xml fields exist in the document where they are placed. For this reason it is better to use CCs linked to built-in doc property fields (although you run out of fields pretty quickly).

Re-reading the original question, I assumed, perhaps mistakenly, because of the building blocks in the title and post that we were talking about building blocks for multiple documents.

Another resource: Create a Form Using Word Content Controls by Greg Maxey, MVP

If I am using mapped controls outside the built-in document property ones, I use one of the tools you linked. I keep both of them loaded on my system.
