Default Setting MS Word 2013 window size

On one of my laptops, I can preset the MS Word window to open at a certain size (e.g., I like MS Word to open top to bottom but only use about 1/2 of the screen horizontally.). And that is MS Office 7.0. However, on my other laptop where I am using MS Office 13, my window defaults automatically to the top left corner of the screen. It's almost like the screen is divided into quarters and MS Word 2013 uses the top left corner to open. I try to set the size and save it, but it does not save. Always reverts back to what it originally was loaded. Can anyone help me?
