Removing extra spacing on resume.

Hello how do I remove this extra space between Dalia Kubba and Education?

First step: display non-printing characters – Ctrl, Shift, 8 is one way to do this – so you can find out whether someone has used empty paragraphs for spacing. (hint: they shouldn't …)

Changing this is not going to be simple. The blank paragraphs were a part of it but not all.

Like most resumes, this is structured as a Table.

The name is in the same table row as the photograph. You can merge cells to change things, but how this will change other things is unknown.


In my experience, most resume templates out there are designed to look good, but are not designed with how Word works in mind. They are hard to edit. In this instance, there was limited use of styles, most text is in the normal style including some headings.

Here I merged the cells with your name and the Education heading. It worked fairly well.

This was done using the Merge Cells command on the Table Tools Layout tab.
