Date display in Mod quick part header
Hello,
I am very much a novice with regards to Office applications. Having used the search function without success, I am turning to the good people on these forums to help me. With a colleague at work, I am putting together a manual of our procedures and we have chosen the Mod header from the quick part building blocks. However when we select a date to be displayed in the header, the day and month appear in the even pages and the year in the odd pages when the document is loaded. The date format that we would like to use is DD/MM/YY and this is displayed correctly when first input but after saving and loading reverts to the split display. Any assistance that you can give will be gratefully appreciated. John |

Following some research I discovered that there is a Developer tab that can be displayed on the ribbon, from Word Options on the Office button. With this tab I was able to display the date in a format of my choosing and detail the steps below for novices like me. Open document > Insert tab> Header> Edit Header> Click on "Year" > Developer tab> Properties> Change title from "Year" to "Date" > Change Locale from English (United States) to English (United Kingdom) > Choose date format from list> OK> Design tab> Close Header and Footer> Save. |
