Apart from selecting objects using selection pane what else can it be used for?

Default unable to drag
In selection pane unable to drag one picture below the other. Also when I click on the eye icon in selection pane it is not changing into hide icon. How does it work?

For an object to be "draggable" in the Selection pane, its Text Wrapping must be set to something other than "In line with text." Try "Square," for example.

Hiding/showing should work, though.
