Where are you saving documents by default?

Stefan - My default save location Is:: C:\Users\Herm\Documents\

And saving to that location always makes a document read-only? In that case, this may be a problem with permissions (access rights) to that folder in Windows.
Do you see the same problem if you save to the desktop, for example?

I would ask, how are you creating NEW documents? I presume that the document hasn't even been saved once yet if it is a new document.
