Default Form Fields & Active X

Hello! New member here.

I'm new to form fields and active x. I've created a document for my customers to fill out but want to use form fields and protect the document.

I'm having a specific issue with the form fields. I want to have specific fields autosize to fit the text my customers input if needed. Adjusting the length of the document if needed.

I'm guessing there might be more than one way to accomplish this and I've tried a couple with no success. I've posted a screenshot of my "properties" settings and setting in the "format object" dialogue box.

One thing I don't understand is why is my "text box" tab grayed out in the "format object" box? Isn't this one way to manage the autosize setting for form fields?.

Thanks for any help!
