Diiferent Sizes fo the same fonts
In the attached screen capture file to this post is a snipping tool picture that I took of a paper that I am writing and it expresses my problem very well.
The Font choice in MS Word says that the numerical entries on the right hand side of the equals sign are in fact size 14. However, they look very small. The entries on the right hand side are also size 14 according to the font choice. It is obvious that someone is wrong! I Believe it is the entries on the right hand side of the equals sign. They cannot both be of Font size 14. The right hand side entries are in a equation editor (insert choice selected on the top row) so maybe that has something to do with it. Why are the entries in the equation editor so small? I just do not understand. Also, how do I make them bigger? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. Respectfully, Lou_Reed |

When you insert a fraction using the Equation Editor, there are multiple options for how the fraction is layed out. It appears you have chosen the option that scales the text down to superscript-ish size.
Go back to the equation editor and try some of the other options for fractions. Most don't scale the font down.

Accessing Font options in the equation editor
Okay, but how do I do that. I seem to just be stuck with the small option.
How do I access the Font options in the equation editor. In the equation editor, as I am sure you know there is no way in the font menu option to add subscripts and superscripts. The choice is grayed out. Respectfully, Lou Reed |

Try selecting the equation, this then shows the equation Design tab.
Click that tab, then the Normal Text tab. Now go to the Home tab > Font (Ctrl + D). |

It is far from obvious, I would agree. Use the dialog launcher in the bottom right of the Conversions group to get to the options. |

Oops. My solution does not do it. I suspect the author used the Small Fraction option when inserting. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be any option to change it other than re-writing the fraction.
