Printing list of names in a publisher or word document

In a template for a Certificate of Training or an invitation to an event, how do I print each of the names of participants or guests in a word doc or publisher? The names are listed in a table.

Take a look at mail merge which will use Excel to provide the names.

Thank you. it was more than 2 decades past when I applied mail merge in Wordstar 4 to 7. Wordstar is the predecessor of MS Word. I am now trying it in another format.
