Default dot and dash characters

I find that the Morse code dot and dash is better represented using keypad entry. First select, say, Calibri font for the Excel cell, press and hold the alt key, enter 7 on the kepad for a dot, then release the alt key -- and a nice dot appears. For a dash, enter 22 instead of 7. Be sure to enter a space between codes lest they run together.
Yes, Morse code is just dots and dashes, but rendering them with hyphens and periods just doesn't look right (because of the vertical separation between them). Being able to render Morse in Word or Excel is useful on those occasions where it is discussed, used or taught (yep, not often). Using hyphens and periods does not do it justice. Similarly it would be nice to have a font set for Linear B.

Although Morse code is falling by the way-side, it is still a nice means for radio communication particularly for non-native English speakers (esp at long distances), or for those that just are not otherwise gifted at speaking.
