![]()
Hi,
So I have this issue with using a template in word. If I add a header and change paragraph (i.e. pressing the enter-key) the formatting automatically changes to unformatted text (i.e. no format selected). I would like this to be set to "Normal" formatting instead. Anyone knows if this is a bug or there is a setting for this? My current solution is using hotkey (Ctrl + Shift + N) every time I exit a header. I will surely miss this sometimes leaving me with a bunch of unformatted text. |

It is not possible for a paragraph to have no Style. That said, you can modify the relevant heading Style so the Style for the following paragraph is set to whichever Style you want.

Header or Heading?
What is the difference between headings and headers? All text in a Word document has a style. It is impossible to not. Understanding Styles in Microsoft Word If you are in a Heading style and press Enter at the end of the paragraph, it will generally give you a new paragraph in a different style, the normal style by default. |

As Paul suggested, what you are seeing is most likely the result of the "Style for following paragraph" setting in the paragraph style that you are using.
By default, if you apply a heading style to text, the Normal style is applied as you press Enter. You can change that in the Modify Style dialog box.
