Hi
I am creating a policies and procedures from single chapters. There is a single a policy and its procedures per chapter, each P&P uses a new number and I would like the page numbers to reflect the chapter number - page number. I use the heading scheme from the multilevel list button but this doesn't always work, I get a message indicating there is no chapter number to include in the caption or page number. It tells me to select a numbering scheme that is linked to the Heading style. I can't work out how to do this Thanks for reading my post and hope you can help me. Bursal |

Set up your heading numbering properly linked to styles; see https://shaunakelly.com/word/numberi...g20072010.html. Then use the Page Number Format dialog box to specify that page numbers should include a specific heading number. Choosing level 1/Heading 1 is often the most convenient choice.
If you want page numbering to restart for each chapter, you must insert a section break between each chapter. For more on this, see https://shaunakelly.com/word/numberi...ppendixes.html.
