Set up your heading numbering properly linked to styles; see https://shaunakelly.com/word/numberi...g20072010.html. Then use the Page Number Format dialog box to specify that page numbers should include a specific heading number. Choosing level 1/Heading 1 is often the most convenient choice.

If you want page numbering to restart for each chapter, you must insert a section break between each chapter.
