I've been having a problem that comes up very frequently, and surprisingly I haven't found any similar complaints when I search the Internet.

When I set up a hyperlink in a Word doc, it shows up underlined and blue. I've found that often, if I insert text near a hyperlink, the new text is also underlined and blue (but is not itself a hyperlink), and I have to manually turn off underlining and change the font color to fix it.



It comes up in several situations. One that I've just duplicated: I create a numbered list with three items. The second one ends in a hyperlink. See "Numbered list - before" attachment.

If I move the cursor just after the hyperlink, hit Enter (to create a new list item), and start typing, the text shows up normally.

However, if instead I save the document and close the window, and later reopen the document, then move the cursor after the hyperlink, hit Enter, and start typing, the text is blue and underlined. See "Numbered list - after" attachment.

There are other situations not involving lists where this happens. Copy-paste is one; if I copy text from one document that contains a hyperlink, and paste it into another document, and then try to insert text after the hyperlink, this new text is blue and underlined.

This is not an obscure situation. It has been occurring for me at least once or twice each day.

I'm currently using a Mac, but I recently switched from a Windows system, and my recollection is that the same problem appeared.

Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround that's easier than manually fixing the underlining and font color each time it happens?
