Most likely, you have to adjust the tab stop position following the heading number (to accommodate the wider digits).

Thanks Stefan, Where do I do this? Under Modify Style and then under Tabs, I can see that the tab stops for all my headers are the same (Alignment Left & Leader None)...

Sorry, since you are using Word for Mac I can't provide the exact steps. I only use Word on a PC, myself. In Word for Windows, though, you will have to make use of the Multilevel List dialog box to specify the indentation and tab stops around bullets or numbers. See attached image file.
