Hello Everyone,
I just bought a new Win 10 laptop, and I'm running Word 2016. I noticed that on my two older PCs, both Win 10, and on my new laptop that when closing Word it sticks. All were Word 2016. Sometimes it shuts down after about 20 seconds and sometimes it does not and I have to go into task manager and end it. As it is happening on all three PCs, I assume its a quirk in Word, any thoughts? I understand that Word 2019 is coming out this month, so maybe that will resolve the issue. Cheers Rob |

What you're describing is not 'normal' behaviour for Word 2016. Your description suggests some other application (e.g. antivirus) or a rogue Office addin is interfering with the normal application close process.

Ah, you may have nailed it Paul, the only addin I have that was similar to all three PCs is Grammarly, and it's always a bit unstable thinking about it.
I bet you that's it. I'll try killing it and see what happens, thanks for the advice. Cheers Rob |
