![]() I inserted chapter 1-3 in word outline view and inserted sub documents between them. I found online that deleting section breaks will put chapter 1 or 2 headings and subdocuments on same page I did that but now chapters are on one page . How to put a chapter with body in seperate pages? |

Word's master document 'feature', if that's what you're using, is a known source of document corruption. See:
https://wordmvp.com/FAQs/General/Why...ocsCorrupt.htm http://www.addbalance.com/word/masterdocuments.htm To start a new chapter on a new page, you can do any of: • insert a 'next page' Section break between them; • insert a manual page break between them; or • format the paragraph Style that starts each chapter with the 'page break before' attribute.

As Paul has already said, Word's master documents are not reliable.
A possible alternative, if you really don't want to keep all the content in a single *.docx file, is to bring in content from external files with INCLUDETEXT fields. You can insert such fields via the Insert File dialog box (Insert | Object | Text from File). To create the field, cselect a file and then click the arrow on the Insert button and choose Insert as Link. INCLUDETEXT fields must be updated manually after the source file has been edited. Conversely, you can edit the field result and save the changes back to the source file with Ctrl+Shift+F7.
