Tracked changes and comments disappeared with All Markup selected

Had entered comments and additional changes to someone else's markup. Emailed it to that user, who reported she couldn't see any changes or comments. I verified from the version in my sent email, then checked the version on my hard drive. Now that doesn't show any changes/comments either. Trying to clear out any possible corruption, I saved it as an RTF format, then resaved as a docx. No change. It's also now been over a day, and no change.

Any suggestions on how to get the changes back?

Which display options have been selected for revision balloons and tracked changes?

Just looked at the document again, and the changes and comments have reappeared. I want to see if they hold overnight. If they don't, I'll continue the thread.

By default, hidden markup will be re-displayed as you close and re-open the file.

What markup is viewed, and how it is displayed, are local user options. They are not part of the document.
