@Guessed: I am just saving the PDF directly from Word (Save As -> PDF)
@d4: I tried that, wouldn't help.. I added a part of the document Update: It does not happen if I "print to" PDF24 (some program I used to modify PDFs). It also looks like the resolution pretty much stays intact when I do that, impressive! SOLVED (thx Guess for the idea)
