Default After typing a heading and pressing return, I want body text style, not normal

When I type a heading and then hit the return key, a new line starts and the style defaults to normal. If I hit return again a new line starts and the style switches to body text. I want to go from headings styles to body text style without the normal style being automatically selected. How can I achieve this? Thanks very much!
