Linking to a Rich Text CC is not good. You should be using a Plain Text CC instead for something that only contains an employee name.
Using the tools linked earlier in the thread may also be overkill if you only want a single field linked. For that, I would recommend you adapt one of the existing built-in linked CCs by going to Insert > Quick Parts > Document Property > {Pick one that looks semi-relevant eg Manager}. You can edit the Title property of the CC to show up as Employee Name if you like.
