Glad you got it straightened out.



The key fact is that each section in Word has three headers and footers (in sets). They are:
  • the Header/Footer main (default) - This is the first-page header/footer until Different first page is selected. If Different Odd and Even is selected, then it becomes the Odd-Page header/footer.
  • The First Page Header/Footer
  • The Even Page Header/Footer

Even if you do not have either of the options checked, Word has these and they can have content even if you do not see that content.
