Word has an option File > Advanced > Print > Draft Quality, which holds for the Word session. If you want always to print draft quality, add a macro to your normal template to switch it on each time you start Word

Code:
Sub AutoExec()
    Options.PrintDraft = True
End Sub

Default Printing Draft

Hi again GMayor

Before I add the macro to the Normal.dotm template on Word 2013, I should say that in the options - advanced tab I noticed an option to print in draft. I checked that box, clicked on save at the bottom, then clicked save on the template. When I created a new document and attempted to print, the properties box told me that it was still printing in Normal mode, not draft. Any ideas?

Default Print in Draft Macro

Hi
I recorded a macro for Normal.dotm using your code, but when I print, the preferences still say Normal Quality......what did I do wrong?
