Default Document Positioning Default

I recently upgraded Microsoft Word to 16.11.1. Previously, I had set documents to open in the left upper corner of the screen by moving them when they open otherwise, and when I reopen them at a later time, they open in the upper left of the screen. Also, they opened in the draft mode by default.

Since I upgraded, documents now open offcenter, and in Print mode. I can select View and make the changes, but when I open the document again nothing has changed and I again have to select the View and make the changes. This is tiresome, and I would like the changes to be permanent. What am I missing here?
