Yes, you can. The actual method chosen to do this would depend on whether there is overlap in 'modes'.

If each variable part can tagged either by:
- Including in a Rich Text Content Control
- Bookmarks (allow overlapping)
- Styles

Then a macro could be used to set the relevant sections to Hidden or Visible. Depending on what method you choose, the code can be developed to achieve the result you desire.
