This is my first post on the forum and have a question about automating information based on a fill-in form field.
I have a field in a document that needs to be filled in with information like a name. That same name will be in the document many times (currently the document i'm working on requests that name about 10 times). What i want to know is if i can store a fill-in field's data and repeat it the other 9 times. I'm pretty sure this is possible with the docvariables and what not but am not sure how to achieve this. Any info or solutions would be great. So more simply: The last person who made this word template basically used fill-in fields on every applicable field so i get prompted to type the name in over and over and over. I want to type it in once and have all the other fields refer to the first. If anyone can help it would be greatly appriciated. |

You can use a fill-in field, bookmark it, and then cross-reference the bookmark text. Save as template.
Or you can insert a text formfield with 'Calculate on exit' checked. Then, in all the other places, reference the formfield with a field: -Press Ctrl+F9 -Type the name of the text formfield -Click away from the field Ctrl+F9 toggles on and off the display of field codes. |
