Hello Everyone,
Using W7 Ultimate, m/s Office 2010. HP Deskjet 2050. I tried to post a message like this but I can no longer find it, forgive me if this is a repeat. I changed my colour and black ink cartridges, did an alignment and then I composed a word document and tried to print it out. The print was a half page of details obtained from where, I have no idea and a complete waste of paper (I tried to print it out 4 times!) It contained the following details :- File name; Directory; Title; Subject; Author; Keywords; Comments; Creation Date; Change Number; Last Saved On;Last Saved By; Total Editing Time; Last Printed On; As of Last Complete Printing - Number Of Pages; Number Of Words; Number Of Characters; I would greatly appreciate instructions on how to prevent this happening each time I try to print out a Word Document. I have used up 2 whole sheets of paper and if this is going to happen each time I try to print, it is going to be cheaper to go to a printer and stop using the printer on my desk. I have had the printer for a few years and this is the first time it has "behaved" like this without any control from me. Regards, Colin |

I suspect you are printing Document Properties instead of All Pages.
00 deleteme 1.png I believe this is a sticky setting. |

Hello Charles Kenyon,
Thank you for your reply. I have re-visited the document that I tried to print out and this is what I find - Settings – set to print current page Pages - set to print one sided Collated - set (automatically,)123, 123, 123 Portrait orientation A4 Narrow margins set at L 0.5” R 0.5” 1 page per sheet. There is nothing below this, except for a tab with “page set up” and this does not give the details that you show in your reply under the heading titled – “Document Properties.” I returned to “Print All Pages” and saw the details that you show in your reply. The only item that I tried to alter was the check mark or tick against ‘Print Mark up’ – this I did and then chose ‘Print Current Page’ and then pressed "Print" - then it all happened again! All this detail was printed on the first page and then, the second page printed my chosen document. I luckily placed two pages in the feed, but I still cannot find a way to prevent this waste of paper by stopping the details being printed out on a sheet of paper first. Could you address this for me, please? Regards, Colin. |

I agree with Charles in that it looks like you are printing the document properties. If this is correct, to fix go to the PAGE LAYOUT toolbar and select the DOWNWARD ARROW in the lower right-hand corner of the PAGE SETUP section. Then select the PAPER tab from the resulting menu...followed by selecting the PAPER OPTIONS in the lower right-hand corner. Check the box that says "Print Document Properties" and make sure it is NOT checked.
It that is not it...I don't have another guess. HTHs |

Hello JimP,
Thank you very much for your reply to my question. I followed your instructions and when I reached the Print Options the box was checked/ticked. How this happened I have no idea, I have never been to this part of the control before! I then printed it out – and found that it was worth the page used because now I no longer gat all that half page of detail. My grateful thanks. Regards Colin. |
