I am having a strange problem with the printing of Word documents. This relates to Word 2002 and a HP Deskjet 5740. There is plenty of ink in the HP branded cartridges.



Every third line the lower half of the characters do not print properly. The rest of the document prints OK. If I print in Fast Draft mode it is really bad and will only print properly in Max dpi mode.

The strange thing is this only happens in Word, if I print another document format I have no problems and can print in any setting from Fast Draft upwards.

Any ideas why and what would cure this?
