If you're going to use NotePad to remove all formatting, there's really no point in using Word at all. NotePad will remove all formatting, including tables, pictures, etc. Removing www. is as simple as using Find/Replace, even in NotePad. In Word, you'd first need to convert the URLS to plain text. If you paste the copied content into Word as unformatted text, you'll have the plain text to work with.
