Also I contacted support for my printer and they said: "Using out of date or even incorrect drivers is not usually the cause of Microsoft Word crashing."
So given it is a brand new PC, and all I did was install Office 2010, printer drivers, & Trend Micro, and copied over my doc, xls, txt, pdf files, and the xls/txt/pdf files all print fine... but only docs fail to print with strange unrelated memory error, then it seems it is a bug in Office 2010.
